FOUNDER
Metra Lin is the founder of Crux Art Foundation. Her curatorial and writing practice developed through long-term engagement with painting and the experience of viewing. Over many years of close collaboration with artists, she became increasingly concerned not only with how artworks are produced or exhibited, but with how they continue to be encountered by viewers over time. This sustained observation led to questions that extended beyond curatorial practice toward research: why certain works remain present within human memory and experience long after they are first seen.
Her projects have focused on slow viewing, artistic process, and the relation between image and human presence. Through conversations with artists, studio observation, and public exhibitions, she gradually formed an approach that treats exhibitions as environments for attention rather than events.
Crux Art Foundation was founded by Metra Lin in 2024 as a framework to continue this inquiry in a sustained and public form. The foundation does not originate from an institutional initiative alone, but from a prolonged encounter with painting and its effects within human experience.
